War isn't the way to stop terrorists: Shii

Japanese Communist Party Executive Committee Chair Shii Kazuo in an interview by NHK broadcast on July 10 emphasized that efforts to eradicate terrorism must rely on the force of law and police based on international law and in defense of human rights.

After expressing sympathy with the victims of the tragedy in London, Shii emphasized that war can never be the way to eradicate terrorism. That's why the G-8 leaders agreed to suppress terrorism by using judicial and police powers while securing human rights based on the U.N. Charter and international law, he added.

Shii also said, "It is very important that war cannot be the way to stop terrorism."

Referring to the worsening situation in Iraq, Shii said that the SDF be immediately withdrawn from Iraq because the presence of foreign troops there is a factor that worsens the situation in the country.
