JCP Chair congratulates ROK's President-elect

Following the election of Yoon Suk-yeol as the Republic of Korea's next president, Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on March 10 issued a comment to congratulate Yoon. The full text of the comment is as follows:

I would like to offer my congratulations on Yoon Suk-yeol's election as the next president of the Republic of Korea.

I wholeheartedly wish that the president-elect will successfully improve people's living conditions, foster economic prosperity, and contribute to peace and stability in East Asia.

While strongly hoping for a better Japan-ROK relationship and a deeper friendship and cooperation between the two countries, I am hopeful that our party's ties with the ROK government will develop further.
